This is a great example of how heavy a dump truck with a pup trailer is, and the impact that weight has on the ability to slow down.
So many people think about the distance to stop when you have a fully loaded semi. What about the distance it takes to simply slow down? ~ LCSO Deputy Marks
With this particular accident, we had a loaded dump truck (with 3" rock). The truck driver recognized that the speed he was at was too much for this curve on Hwy 126W. He thought he would be able to slow down quickly enough to miss the large curve but could not.
He felt the truck sliding off the road due to the weight, and thought he could correct it back out of the ditch but the speed was simply too fast still, and the truck flipped.

@dontAs a fellow dump truck driver, I agree. The curves on 126 can be misleading. Better to slow down than regret your speed.
